Product Specifications Overview -------- Using the IBM ARTIC Support for IP Over X.25 on Windows NT (hereafter referred to as IP Support), users of the following operating systems can create client-host WAN connectivity for IP applications using X.25: - Windows NT Workstation/Server Version 4.0, with Service Pack 3 or later This software will connect two remote machines via an X.25 network and allow them to use the widely available IP utilities and applications to communicate, instead of forcing X.25 specific application development. Users and applications may use existing Windows NT interfaces to ping, ftp, telnet etc. between two remote machines, client or server, without specific X.25 development. The IP Support conforms to RFC1356 and upon installation the user can configure IP addresses and X.25 NUAs in such a way that attempting to send IP datagrams to a configured remote IP address causes a virtual circuit establishment and the subsequent transmission of the application's datagrams. The IP Support is written as an NDIS 4.0-compliant miniport driver. IBM ARTIC Adapters Supported ------------------------ The IP Support runs on any of the following adapters. - IBM ARTIC X.25 ISA Adapter - IBM ARTIC X.25 PCI Adapter - IBM ARTIC186 8-Port ISA Adapter (one port of V.24 at 19.2 kbps) The X.25 adapters support the following three electrical interfaces: - X.21 - X.21/bis (V.35) - X.21/bis (V.24) Software Requirements --------------------- - Microsoft Windows NT Workstation/Server Version 4.0, with Service Pack 3 or later Latest Software Updates ----------------------- The latest software updates can be downloaded from the ARTIC World Wide Web (Web) site at: http://www.radisys.com/products/artic/ibm/ 2.
