What This Diskette Does ----------------------- This System Program Service Diskette updates the system BIOS program stored in the ThinkPad system to fix problems, add new functions, or expand functions as noted below. (New) New Function or Enhancement (Fix) Correction to existing function <1.16 - R00_H6> - (New) Support for Windows 2000 beta 3. <1.25 - R00_I5> Following limitations were fixed for Windows 2000. - (Fix) The following functions not be used in Windows 2000 Beta 3 *In the Power Options, monitor time out. *SCSI devices attached to CardBus SCSI cards. *CardBus cards in the Port Replicator with Advanced EtherJet. *Warm Dock and Undock of the system with Port Replicator and Advanced EtherJet. - (Fix) USB Mouse functionality fails intermittently after resuming from Standby or Hibernation. <1.35 - R01_B1> - (New) Supprt for ACPI video-expansion function has been added. - (Fix) The swap LED is always on when trying to warm swap. - (Fix) The system cannot Wake On Lan after normal shut down. - (Fix) Attaching or removing the AC adapter doesn't make the normal beep sound. - (Fix) During standby mode, the LCD backlight powers on for a moment when AC adapter is attached or removed from the system. - (Fix) When a PCMCIA card is in the Port Replicator with Advanced EtherJet feature, sometimes the card will not function properly after a warm boot. Updating System Program ----------------------- To determine if you should update the system program, please refer to the "Summary of Changes" section. Notes: - You need an AC adapter and a charged battery pack to update the system program. 1. Print these instructions or display them on another computer. 2. Firmly connect the AC adapter to the computer. 3. Insert the System Program Service Diskette into the diskette drive and turn on the computer. 4. When prompted press the '1' key to update the system program. Warning: Do not turn off the computer until the update has been completed. IF YOU TURN OFF THE COMPUTER WHILE THE UPDATE IS STILL IN PROGRESS, THE SYSTEM BOARD MAY HAVE TO BE REPLACED.
