What This Package Does
----------------------
This package provides the following utility programs for Windows 95/98
users:
  - ThinkPad Configuration program

Note:  Under Windows 95, Internet Explorer version 4 or higher must be
       installed.

This package enables or updates the utility programs of the following
ThinkPad computer:
  - ThinkPad 240

To determine if you have to update the utility programs or not, please
refer to the "Summary of Changes" section.

To update the utility programs, please refer to the "Installation Guide"
section.

Installation Guide
------------------

HOW TO DETERMINE WHAT VERSION IS INSTALLED:
 1. Start Windows 95/98.
 2. Click on 'Start' -> 'Find' -> 'Files or Folders...'.
 3. Click on the 'Name & Location' tab.
 4. In the 'Named:' field, type in  TP98.EXE .
 5. In the 'Look in:' field, specify "Local Hard drives (C:, D:, ..)".
 6. Click on the 'Find Now' button.
    Windows will now search your hard drive for TP98.EXE.  If the file
    is  not found, then the ThinkPad Utility is not installed on your
    system.
 7. In the 'Found' part of the window, double-click on "TP98.EXE"
    located in the drive specified by the step 5 above.
 8. Click on the "Help" from menu bar and select the "About..." item.
    The version will be displayed.

HOW TO INSTALL THE UTILITY:

- To determine if you have to update the utility programs or not, please
  refer to the "Summary of Changes" section.
- Under Windows 95, Internet Explorer version 4 or later must be
  installed.

 1. Start Windows 95/98.
 2. Extract this package to the hard disk.
 3. Click on 'Start' -> 'Run...'.
 4. Type "C:\DRIVERS\W9X\UTILITY\SETUP" and click on 'OK'.
    Or specify the installation program "SETUP.EXE" with full path you
    extracted in the step 2 and click on 'OK'.
 5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
