Windows NT 3.5 & 3.51 Display Driver Products Supported: IBM PC Server 310 Systems with S3 Trio64V+ (765) tm video subsystem Driver Version: 1.30.03 1.0 INSTALLING MICROSOFT WINDOWS NT 3.5 tm At present Windows NT 3.51 does not include the correct display driver for the S3 Trio64V+ chip set. For best results, install the driver supplied with this README file. While installing Windows NT 3.5 the default S3 Compatible Driver might not function correctly on systems with the Trio64V+ chip set. During the initial boot of Windows NT the following message is displayed: "Please select the operating system to start:". Select VGA mode which will put the system in VGA mode for installation of the new display driver (video device driver). 2.0 DISPLAY DRIVER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1. Start Windows NT. 2. When the message "Please select the operating system to start:..." message is displayed, select "Windows NT Workstation Version 3.51  VGA mode ". 3. In the Main folder, Double click on the Control Panel icon. 4. Double click on the Display icon. 5. Select the Change Display Type... button, and click. 6. On the Display type screen under the Adapter Type section, select Change... button and click. 7. Select Other... button. 8. Insert the new display driver diskette into drive A:, then select OK or press Enter. 9. When the S3 video driver update appears in the list, click on Install. 10. If the following message appears: "This operation will change your system configuration. Do you want to proceed anyway?", click on Yes. 11. If a message appears stating the driver is already installed, select "New". 12. If prompted for the driver diskette a second time, click on Continue. 13. When the message "The drivers were successfully installed" is displayed, remove display driver diskette, then click on OK. 14. When prompted, shut-down and restart Windows NT. 3.0 CHANGING DISPLAY (VIDEO) SETTINGS 1. Start Windows NT. 2. Select Main. 3. Select Control Panel. 4. Double click on the Display icon. 5. Change the resolution, color palette, or font size. 6. Click on the Test button and then select OK to run the test. 7. If you saw the bitmap correctly, click on Yes and then restart NT. If you did not see the bitmay correctly, go to step 5 and select different settings.
